The last few months

What a terrible blogger I am! I haven't blogged in months! Life has been very busy. I feel like I don't have any time to sit down and write anymore.
Oliver is almost 8 months old now. He is growing so fast.
Here are a few of the little phases that he has gone through that I want to remember:

Nose scrunching while smiling and shaking his head: This one was the most adorable thing ever. He would scrunch his little nose up, and smile so big while shaking his head back and forth. All you had to do was do it to him and he would mimic you.

Wrist twirling: The kid found his wrists. For a few days all he did was flap his hands and twirl his wrists. It kept him so entertained. It was like all of a sudden he realized that his hands were attached by the coolest thing ever!

Squeezing: He is still kind of doing this one. He squeezes everything he grabs to check out how it feels. It is so cute, he is just so interested in the way everything feels.

Crawling: He did his first crawl on October 29, 2010. We went to my Dad and sister's office and went to lunch. My sis watched him after lunch so I could run and get my eyebrow's waxed (much needed!!!). When I came back I ran to the bathroom. While I was in the bathroom he decided to up and crawl. I guess that they were yelling for me (which I didn't hear). He did it 2 more times and we got it on video. He has been doing it once in awhile since then, but he is still so much faster at his army crawl, that it is still his default way to get around.

Pulling up: He has been pulling up for a few weeks, but always needed a little help. But the same day he decided to crawl, he decided that he can also pull up on everything! He did it all in one day. Watch out! We need to do some serious Oli proofing.

Climbing stairs: Yep, one of his new favorite pass times. He is so proud of himself when he makes it up a few stairs. He still thinks he is invincible, and has no fear. So I have to be right there for when he decides to come back down.

Waving: The little flirt waved at a lady in a booth behind us while out to dinner. They were waving at him and smiling at him all through dinner. He kept smiling and ducking his head at them. I swear he even batted his eyes at this lady. Well, he raised his hand and did the cutest little wave. He is waving at everyone now. The couple at the restaurant thanked us when we left and said they had the best time "playing" with him. So cute.

We are also working on the "high five". He gets it and will put his hand up when you put yours up and ask for a high five. We are going to working on "Hook 'em Horns" soon. That is an important one.

His newest thing is playing with his tongue. He sticks it out, and makes all new noises with it. This one comes with lost of slobber. I love it.

Oh, and the kid has 2 teeth too. His two bottom ones. And he can bite! I have learned not to stick my fingers near his mouth anymore. Those little razors could take off a finger (or a nipple...).

I am still breastfeeding. I was orginaly only going to breastfeed for 6 months, but it is going so well, that I decided to keep going. Kevin has taken over bed time so he gets at least 1 formula bottle per night. I will go to a year at which point he will be able to start cow's milk. Not quite ready to give up that bonding time and sometimes it is the only trick I have to get him calmed down.

I am also now working. I got a part time job as a server at Copper Rail Bar and Grill. I am working 2-4 nights per week. I had never served before, and it is going pretty well. I still feel like a newbie, but getting more confident every week. I don't love working, but dreading it was worse that actually taking the plunge and doing it. It is really nice that Kevin gets to be home with him in the evenings too.

We dressed him up as a tiger for Halloween. It was so cute. We didn't end up going out to trick or treat as he was on a nap strike that day. But we did do the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago and got some really cute pictures of him in his costume. So we spend Halloween with Auntie, Uncle and Grammy and Grampy. We had a fun afternoon and Uncle B made meatloaf sandwiches for Super Sandwich Sunday. It was a great day.

Well, that is a quick recap of the last few months. Again, I will try to write more often since the little booger is growing so fast, there is so much I don't want to forget. But as history shows, it might be a little while before I write again.
