Monday, Monday...

I can not believe that it is Monday already!! Another weekend flew by. Expecting this week to go slow. I can't beleive I only have this week and next left at work! It is pretty crazy to think that I will soon no longer be employed.

We had an eventful night last night. My sister called a little after 12 needing to go to the hospital. She had a severe case of food poisoning. She had been throwing up and had diarrhea for hours and was really dehydrated. Her poor DH had to rush to get off work, and was about 40 minutes away. They gave her some fluids and some meds, and she is home sleeping now. I have never had food poisoning, and hope I never do. She was the most miserable I have ever seen her. Poor girl!!!

We had a good time with my old high school friend on Friday night. It was really good to catch up. She is about 16 weeks pregnant and just found out that they are having a boy too. Very exciting.

We also got some really bad news...our friends dog died on Friday. She was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago and got really sick really fast. She was a 6 year old American Bulldog named Gracie. She was such a sweet girl, and we will miss her so much. We are so sad for our friends and so sad that we didn't have a chance to say goodbye.

So, now on to baby watch 2010...nothing exciting to report. I *think* that I may have lost part of my plug yesterday and have been having the same amount of braxton hicks as usual. We are so anxious for him to get here, but trying to enjoy the last few days or weeks of it just being DH and I. We know our lives are about to be turned upside down and want to enjoy each other as much as we can.

38 Week Appointment

I had my 38 week appointment yesterday. The doctor said that everything looks good. My blood pressure was perfect and she didn't see any problems.
Then she did the internal exam. I was so stoked to hear that I am 1-2 cm dilated, and my cervix was about 60% thinned!! I have not been having many braxton hicks contractions, and I feel like Oliver is still pretty high, so I was suprised to hear that news!
Now, I know I can walk around for the next few weeks this way and even go overdue. But It is at least more encouraging that hearing that I didn't make any progress.
We don't have any huge plans for the weekend. We are meeting one of my old friends and her husband for dinner tonight, but going to lay low the rest of the weekend. My sister and BIL are going snowboarding for the weekend so we are watching their dogs.

Oh, and let the countdown begin....ONLY 2 WEEKS OF WORK LEFT!!!!

My First Blog Entry Ever!

Well, this is it! I have started a blog. My sister kind of got me hooked on blogs over the last few months. I guess it is time to finally start my own since I enjoy reading other's so much.
I couldn't really decide what direction to go with this blog. I thought of doing one that I would share with all my friends and family that would just be really general and full of fluff and pictures (since we have a new baby due any day now!). Or, a blog that I would use to put my true feelings, thoughts, vents, complaints, etc. I guess that my second option won! So, I will be putting all my random thoughts and posts here! I will probably start a 2nd one that can be full of fluff and pictures for friends and family.
So as I mentioned above, my husband and I are expecting our first baby on March 6th. I keep saying "any day now" becuase I am ready for him to be here! Being our first, I have no idea what to expect. I "think" we are as prepared as we can be. I mean, we have the nursery set up, have the crib, some diapers, a bunch of clothes and all the necessities. But as far as really being prepared? We will see!
I have decided not to go back to work after Oliver is born. It was kind of a scary decision. I have a job that pays pretty damn well for the work that I do. It just seems crazy to walk away from a stable, well paying job in this economy. But DH and I have worked and re-worked the budget 100 times and know that we can get by on his income alone. It will just be tight. I also can't imagine leaving this little guy, that I haven't even met, but already love so much, at a day care center. I just can't do it. I feel so blessed that we can afford for me to stay home. BUT, I am kind of worried about being a stay at home Mom. I really worry about not having anything to talk about but my baby. I don't have any real hobbies or things that will get me out of the house so I am going to have to work extra hard to have outside interests and stuff.
Well, I guess that will wrap up my first ever blog entry! I wish I would have started earlier to have a record of my whole pregnancy, but at least I got this started in time to have a record of the last few weeks, and the beginning of Oliver's life as an outside baby! *Fingers crossed that it happens soon*
